An Introduction

Hey there,

Thanks for visiting my blog! This is a pretty new venture for me and I have never started a blog before.

So who am I and why am I writing this blog? Well to start with, my name is Taylor Gamble. As of writing this article I am a second year Criminology student from the UK. During my first year I was presented with an opportunity. The opportunity to study abroad somewhere. I could pick from the US, Australia and Canada. So I put Canada at the top of my list as it was somewhere I had never been before but have wanted to for a while.

To paraphrase, I thought to myself; "Fuck it, why not? Might as well throw my hat into the ring and see if it goes anywhere. Probably won't". At each stage I found my way to the next until eventually I was told to start prepping for this totally new experience. And as of 31st December 2018, I have been living in Ottawa, studying at Carleton University. As to why I am writing this blog, I thought it would be a neat way of documenting my experiences and sharing them with you. Kind of like a diary for me to look back on and reflect. I will also be giving my thoughts on current affairs in Canada. Kind of like, an Outsider on the Inside's perspective.

I have now been here for very nearly a whole month and have experienced quite a lot which I didn't expect. Most good, some not so much. These things will be the first articles I write as I will be writing these in order from when I arrived.

The reason for the name of the blog is pretty simple. I'm a considerably cynical person and I am currently located in Canada. That's it. I know, I'm a creative genius.
